JDW.SOCIAL LIMITED ("JDW.Social", "we", "us") is a paid media company for the music industry, registered in England and Wales under company number 16969557. Our registered office is 6 Morecambe Avenue, Caversham Heights, Reading RG4 7NL, United Kingdom. For anything relating to this policy or your personal data, contact clients@jdw.social.
For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), JDW.SOCIAL LIMITED is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, except where we act on behalf of a client as described under "Client services" below.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It runs through Google Tag Manager and our own server at data.swiiiiim.co, hosted by Stape in the EU, which passes the data on to Google. It sets analytics cookies on your device (such as _ga), and Google receives information about your visit, such as your browser, your approximate location and the pages you view. Advertising features are switched off. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
You can turn analytics off on this site at any time:
Our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) may process technical data such as IP addresses in server logs for the purpose of serving and securing the site; that processing is standard to web hosting and is governed by their own policies.
We run pages at listen.swiiiiim.co for the artists we work with: links to a release on streaming services, or to tickets for a tour. JDW.SOCIAL LIMITED is the controller of the data these pages collect.
What we record on every visit. When you open a page, or tap a service or a show, our server records what you opened or tapped and when; your browser and device type; your approximate location, worked out from your IP address (country, region, city and postcode district); the link or ad that brought you, including any campaign tags and the click ID that Facebook, Instagram or TikTok add to ad links; and your IP address. If you are in the UK, the EU, the EEA or Switzerland and have not accepted cookies, we keep your IP address only in a scrambled form that cannot be read back without a separate secret key.
We use these records to count visits and taps, to report campaign results, and to filter out automated traffic such as crawlers. Nothing is stored on your device for this. We rely on our legitimate interest in measuring the campaigns we run.
If you accept cookies. In the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland the page asks before doing any of the following. Elsewhere, these are on by default. With your agreement:
We set cookies on your device: swl_id, a random visitor ID that lets us recognise a return visit (400 days); swl_consent, which remembers your choice (400 days, or 180 days if you choose "not now"); and Meta's _fbp and _fbc (90 days).
We work out a device fingerprint, a code made from your browser's settings, to recognise the same device.
We send the visit and your taps to Meta (Facebook and Instagram), from your browser through the Meta Pixel and from our server through Meta's Conversions API. Meta receives your IP address, browser details, Meta's two cookies, the ad click ID, and, in hashed form, our visitor ID, the device fingerprint and your approximate location. The artist's campaign uses this to measure results and to show ads to people who engaged with the page. Meta handles this data under its Business Tools Terms and its own privacy policy.
We rely on your consent for this, and where we do not ask, on our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the campaigns we run. You can withdraw consent or object at any time by clearing the cookies for listen.swiiiiim.co, after which the page will ask again, or by emailing us.
Who sees it, and for how long. Our records are kept in Google Cloud (BigQuery) in London, and the pages are served by Vercel from London. Access is restricted to accounts we authorise. We report totals to the artist and their team, never the personal data behind them. We may combine what we learn across the pages we run into anonymous totals, for example how many people who tapped one artist's page also tapped another's, to plan campaigns. We never give one client personal data collected for another, and we never build an advertising audience for one client from another client's page visitors.
We keep these records for 540 days and then delete them automatically. Anonymous totals may be kept for longer. Cookies last for the periods listed above. Meta keeps what it receives under its own policy.
Because we do not know your name, if you ask us what we hold or to delete it, it helps to tell us roughly when and from where you visited.
Some of our listen.swiiiiim.co pages let you join an artist's mailing list. The list is the artist's, and they choose what to send you; we look after it for them. You're only added if you tick the box, and that tick is what lets us hold your details. You can leave whenever you like.
When you join, we keep your email address, the date you joined, the wording you agreed to, the page you joined from, how you got there and roughly which country you joined from. We share the list with the artist, or with whoever sends their emails, so they can write to you.
We keep your details for as long as you're on the list. If you leave or ask us to take you off, we delete them, keeping only a scrambled version of your address so you're not added back by accident.
We never share your email address with Meta or any other ad platform. If you'd like to come off a list, just email clients@jdw.social.
If you email us, we hold your name, email address and the content of your correspondence. We use it to respond to you and to manage our business relationship, on the lawful basis of legitimate interests, or the performance of a contract where we work together. We keep correspondence for as long as it is relevant to the relationship and to our legal and accounting obligations, then delete it.
When we run advertising campaigns for clients, we work inside advertising platforms (such as Meta, TikTok and Google) and related measurement tools. Audience and conversion data in those platforms is processed under the client's own accounts and the platforms' terms. Where we set up analytics or tracking on a client's own website or shop, we do so on the client's behalf, and the client's own privacy policy applies. We also read the public comments people leave on the ads we run, to report reactions to our clients and to spot problems. We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass personal data collected for one client to another.
We share personal data only with service providers who support our business (such as email, document storage, hosting and accounting providers), under their standard data processing terms; with Meta, as described under "Our release and tour pages"; or where the law requires it. Some providers process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers rely on adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
You have the right to ask for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email clients@jdw.social. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
We will update this policy when our practices change and revise the date at the top of the page.
